Zabeth Spayne

is a Scottish visual artist based in Hong Kong, working across diverse mediums.

Zab doesn't remember the first time she picked up a paintbrush (just the first time she was told off for making a mess with paint). She's been scribbling, doodling and sketching her whole life, and began painting with acrylics and oils in her teens.

After developing an interest in portraiture and life drawing, Zab began to experiment with surrealist visions of the human form. She also expanded the scope of her work to include mixed media such as collages, creating unique bases with found objects and items collected on her travels.

Zab uses her creative work to explore deeply personal topics, from sexual identity to neurodivergence, expressed in her colourful, deeply textured pieces.
